Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation

Regional Partnerships Focus of SGCEDC

The Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation is focusing on regional partnerships and the opportunities created through working together as a region. The SGCEDC is partnering with the Copper Corridor Economic Development Coalition (CCEDC) and the San Carlos Apache Tribe Planning & Economic Development Department to leverage resources, support mutually beneficial projects and promote a diversified economy in the Copper Communities region.

Local Food Hub Study

The SGCEDC and the CCEDC are conducting a local food hub study in the Copper Communities in partnership with Local First Arizona (LFA) and the financial assistance of USDA-Rural Development. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of interest and support of creating a locally grown food network that connects growers and consumers. The SGCEDC and the CCEDC have identified diversifying the local economy as priorities for both organizations and the combined regions. Please see the Copper Communities Food Hub Study page for more details.
