What is a Food Hub?
A food hub provides the necessary “infrastructure” to help local small producers to get their products back into the economy and on your plate! You often hear about “farm to table” of “farm to fork” menus and dining options. A food hub encourages small producers to work together to supply local consumers (restaurants, grocery stores, schools) with a consistent supply of fresh, locally produced fruits, vegetables and meats. A food hub helps producers to market their product so they can focus on increasing and improving their products.
